Our Lieux

Sept’s most important mission is to share with the world the authentic flavors of Lebanon’s terroir. This is why we have been leaders in unearthing forgotten vineyards and reviving Lebanese indigenous grapes, such as the Obeideh, Merweh, and Zitani, becoming the first winery in Lebanon to produce these 3 indigenous varieties.
Sept aims to become an ambassador of Lebanon’s heritage and an inspiring model of biodynamic agriculture in the region and the world.
the origin
The Biodynamic
Vineyard: Nehla
Located at 950m facing the Mediterranean sea, Nehla’s terroir is home to our biodynamic Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. This ancestral land is exposed to optimal warmth during the day and fresh sea air at night, making it an exceptional terroir. This ancestral land is the why of our story, the root reason that called us back home and led to the birth of Sept.

INDIGENOUS
The Secret Garden:
Nehla, Douma,
Maytouba.
Home to the almost extinct Merweh and Zitani grapevines, Nehla’s surrounding terroirs, namely Douma and Maytouba, carry the same ancestral value for our winemaker. It is in these lands that century-old franc-de-pied grapes planted by our ancestors are still wildly and quietly thriving in their environment, waiting to bring back the glory days of Lebanon’s winemaking.
This ancestral terroir located between 900m and 1,300m in the Northern mountains of Lebanon sits in our backyard – what a feeling to unearth it! We call it “the secret garden”, and we shall always respect and perpetuate its hidden legacy.
TERROIR
The Organically-Farmed
Single Vineyards
Riyaq, Bekaa
900m

Inside the walls of “Ecole des Peres Blancs” facing the historical train station, our viognier vineyard thrives in the heart of the fertile Bekaa valley; an homage to a land where French missionaries had a big influence on culture and agriculture.
Wadi el Arayish
1150m

Arabic for “The Valley of Vines”, Wadi el Arayish is a historical vineyard from where originates our famous indigenous Obeideh, thriving since centuries at 1,150m on the Eastern slopes of Mount Lebanon.
Ain Trez
650m

Planted by Catholic monks on the Western hills of Mount Lebanon above the historical “Jisr el Qadi”, this unique terroir thrives in complete harmony with nature and esotery. Made of schist and limestone, the Ain Trez vineyard is exposed to optimal warmth during the day and breathing sea air at night, producing a wine of big character.
Deir el Ahmar, North Bekaa
1150m

Located in the heart of the historical Baalbeck region on the Eastern hillsides of Mount Lebanon, our Cuvee du Soleil vineyard is one of the most intriguing, wild, and rich terroirs. Protected by the majestic Cedar Mountain from the East side, this vineyard tells the story of resilience where local farmers chose to replace, decades ago, cannabis cultivation with organic grapes, creating one of the most unique vineyards in the world. A deep red clay sun-soaked soil producing, from the warmest terroir in Lebanon, the freshest red wine.
Batroun
300m

Our newest addition: a 40-year-old grenache vineyard planted at 300m above the old Phoenician city “Botrys”, with mesmerizing views over the blue. Grenache is said to love having its feet in the Mediterranean.
